Description meta tag
The description attribute provides a concise explanation of a web page's content. This allows the webpage authors to give a more meaningful description instead of the search engine’s automatically created description based on the page content. The description will be displayed along with the title of your page in an index. A carefully crafted description can improve click-through rates.
It should look something like this:
<META name=’description’ content=’a description of your page’>
In fact, you need not use the description meta tag in Blogger. Instead, you can use the description field in your header page element. It serves similar purpose in search engine displays.
Where should I place the meta tags?
META tags should be placed in the head section of the HTML document, between the <head> and </head> tags.
