How much is my blog worth?

Every blogger out there thinks that his/ her blog is the best in the cyberworld. When someone criticizes their layout or background color or the font used, they immediately get upset. So, it is good to have some kind of measure that could be used to evaluate blogs. The assessment should be based on a quantitave approach and should not be subjective.

In my opinion, such an assessment would be based on the amount of traffic that the blog generates, the number of sites that links to it, the amount someone would pay for an advertisement on the site, the number of subscribers to the blog, the blog's ranking on different search engines and so on. The assessment is really complex.

But, here is a site that calculates your blog's worth based on your Technorati authority alone. Dane Carlson's Business Opportunities Weblog has created an applet that uses Technorati's API to calculate the blog's worth. Its a simple formula that values each incoming link at $564.64. While this blog worth shows no significant insight into the blog itself, its really fun to see a dollar value attached to your blog.
