Blog Title: Build a solid residual income online
Blog url: http://findcash.blogspot.com/

Another blog on tips to make money online! If you are browsing the cyberspace to get some ideas on realizing a fair share of the online money, please visit this blog. The author displays a long list of earnings made from various sites. A glance through the list should give you a fair indication of where to start with.

The blog is relatively new, started off only in May 2007. The author updates the blog once a week on average. I would like the author to share more of his/ her personal experience with the various programs listed. That would make it interesting to read and would help a reader to make informed decisions, rather than just using the blog as an advertising platform for those programs.

There are too many colors used in the page. It would be pleasant to read the posts if there are less colors. It is absolutely reasonable to highlight few points with special colors, but let's not go beyond what is required.

Personalize your Blogger Comments Page

Friday, August 24, 2007

Here is a way to personalize/ customize the blogger comments page. Whenever your visitor wants to leave a comment, he/ she is taken to a standard comments page given by Blooger. The default comments page is shown as below:

Blogger Comments Page
How nice it would be if we can leave a message to the customer, who makes that extra effort to leave a comment? Blogger has made it easy. Most of us had overlooked this feature before. Here are the simple steps to personalize the comments page.

1. Log in to your Blogger account
2. Click on the Settings tab
3. Under the settings, click on the "Comments" tab
4. Scroll down to the text box titled "Comment Form Message"
5. Just type in the text-box whatever message you want to leave for the reader. You can use html tags, if you are familiar with html
6. Save your settings
7. Thats it.

Now open your blog and try to leave a comment. You will see the pleasant difference in the page, with a personal touch. The personalized comments page will look like this:

Personalized Blogger Comments Page
It does not take much time to implement this, but this will portray a better image of the blog to your reader.

Blog Review: Speak4Money

Thursday, August 23, 2007

Blog Title: Speak4Money
Blog url: http://speak4money.blogspot.com/

When I saw the word "Money" in the title, I started off to browse the blog dispassionately. To my pleasant surprise, this blog tends to be different from the normal blogs on online money. The basic quality of a blog is to have posts that are regular, unique in content and interestingly written. I would give a 100% rating on all these qualities.

Regular updates on the author's money-making ventures combined with the happenings in the cyberspace makes it interesting to read. Most of the posts are supported by images and gives a real look into the author's experiences. It is nice to see that the author shares views on services like PayPal/ E-Gold and Google/ Yahoo/ MSN and there are discussions on Mozilla Firefox/ Internet Explorer.

The blog is uncluttered with minimum advertising. The white color font has nicely matched with the dark-color background and makes reading easy. But, I noticed that different font sizes are used for different posts. I am not sure whether this is intentionally done to grab attention on a particular post. However, I leave it to the author's decision whether to have the font size uniform across all the posts.

Suggestions to improve:

1. I can see only the archive list categorized by month. But, I do not see any archive list by subjects/ categories/ labels. This is one very useful way to quickly find information on a blog. I would suggest the author to include this.

Blog Review: Life, Money and Everything in between

Blog Title: Life, Money and Everything in between
Blog url: http://everydaywear.blogspot.com/

Don’t get misled by the url of the blog. This blog has got nothing to do with costume. Nor this blog is promoting any sort of clothing. It is more of a personal journal that presents the everyday happenings in the author’s life. The blog discusses about almost everything from the author’s family to politics to education.

The blog is updated quite regularly. The discussions are good and interesting to read. I liked the recent posts on public speaking, stage jitters and communication. The title block is very attractive. While I am impressed with the content and the quality of discussions, I would also like to share on areas which needs improvement.

Suggestions to improve:

1. There are too many categories with only one or two discussions under the category. This makes it difficult to navigate. Probably, the author has to look at grouping the discussions under less number of categories. That will help the reader quickly to find the discussions of their interest.

2. This is my personal opinion. The author can think about it. The color of the font makes it difficult to read. I believe that black color text on white background should be an ideal combination for reading. Similarly, the purple/ pink color text on the right column also makes it a strain for the eyes.

Blog Review: Clix4Pay

Blog Title: Clix4Pay
Blog url: http://clix4pay.blogspot.com/

It is just another blog that aims to help you make some online money. Relatively new blog, so I don’t see any posts that are really worth reading. As the author admits on the front page, it looks more like a classified ads page rather than a blog.

The more I browsed through the blog, more the feeling I get that this site is a good advertising platform for ClixSense. More than 50% of the posts are giving you information on the regular earnings by the author from ClixSense.

If you are interested to sign up with ClixSense, a paid-to-click site, please visit this blog. If not, please hold on for some more time until the author starts posting some useful information on this blog.

Introducing Snap Shots from Snap.com

Thursday, August 16, 2007

I just installed a nice little tool on this site called Snap Shots that enhances links with visual previews of the destination site. But, I am not sure whether this improves the reading experience or it is a little hindrance to the users. I would be very happy if you can share your views on this tool. That would help me to decide whether to continue using it.

Sometimes Snap Shots bring you the information you need, without your having to leave the site, while other times it lets you "look ahead," before deciding if you want to follow a link or not.

Should you decide this is not for you, just click the Options icon in the upper right corner of the Snap Shot and opt-out.

Blog Review: Cool Kid's Party

+++++ +++++
Blog Title: Cool Kid's Party
Blog url: http://coolkidsparty.blogspot.com/

Some time ago, when I took a module on "Graphical User Interface", the lecturer told us on the first day that "Content is the King" in any web site design. He emphasized this with many examples from the real world. But, when I started blogging, I found the hard way that it is not easy to create unique and interesting content.

Nowadays, your eyes will not be wide open if you see a blog on making money online or an Indian blog discussing about cricket or for that matter even a blog that claims to review other blogs. So, when I saw a blog devoted purely to topics on partying, I felt that this is unique. The best part is the author can update the blog regularly, almost an average of one post a day.

It just shows that there are some people out there who still preserve the original concept of blogging as it started, an online version of a personal diary. On top of the personal experiences, the author also suggests some useful tips on conducting parties. You will find a simple program for a kid's party, tips on what to give and what to wear at a wedding, how to find the right gift for a kid, how to choose the venue for a party and so on.

Finally, as the author of the blog says "LIFE IS WORTH CELEBRATING".

Free Banners

Wednesday, August 15, 2007

I find this site that helps to create banners for free. So, I thought it would be useful to spread the message around. The banners are quite good and looks really professional. All the banners displayed in this post are created with BannerBreak.com.

The only difficulty is the size of the banner is fixed. Other than that, I find the service very useful. There are quite a number of designs available for you to choose. Creating the banner is also very simple. The advanced settings allow you to customize your banner completely, like changing the background color, banner text, font, font size and so on.

If this post interests you, then try out by creating a banner yourself. You can use the text box below to start off with:

Free Blogger Skins

Monday, August 13, 2007

Have you ever thought that you don't have enough choices with the layouts provided by Blogspot? I always thought that Blogger is not complete without the three-column layout. With the earlier "Classic" version, I have meddled with the html code myself to come out with my first blog. But, that was too difficult to maintain. With the latest version of Blogger, the page elements were so attractive, useful and very easy to use. So, I do not want to touch the source code and end up maintaining it rather than concentrating on my posts.

I found a solution to this problem and thought that it is really worth to share with my readers. There are sites offering FREE Blogger skins/ templates you can use to enhance your blog. So, I tried myself first before making a recommendation. I found the following sites are worth trying. They have a wonderful collection of templates. Most importantly, the installation is a breeze. Only difficulty is you lose all your page elements. But, with Blogger's easy-to-use interface, it took me less than five minutes to set-up all the page elements again.

If you want to make some money by displaying AdSense codes at the right places, these sites offer some special custom-made templates. These templates are created to accomodate the most common AdSense box sizes.

In fact, this blog uses a free template from Charmskins.com Now, I am using a blogger template from Jackbook.com and I have modified it to my requirements. (Updated on 16 Dec 08)

Blog Review: Off Beat Mom

+++++ +++++
Blog Title: Off Beat Mom
Blog url: http://www.offbeatmom.blogspot.com/

Normally, I come across blogs that are just a collection of advertisements, links and some copy-cat posts. This blog provided me with a refreshing look. The author has good writing skills and presents the ideas in an orderly manner. Most of the content are personal opinions on different issues or people. I do not want to comment anything on the content itself. But, if you have time and curious enough to read some intersting articles, please pay a visit to this blog.

The blog is relatively new, started only in May this year. But, the blogger is regularly posting. The layout is uncluttered with very little advertisements.

One suggestion I would make to improve the look is to use "justified" alignment for posts, rather than the left alignment used. This would give a much more organized look to the page.
